PBA Analysis: Alaska and Phoenix deserve respect and gratitude from the PBA Universe

Terrafirma Dyip, Blackwater Elite and Northport Batang Pier. These are the three teams accused as farm teams.

Their trades recently and in the past have proven that to be true in the eyes of a lot of fans. Resulting to the majority of the fans dismayed and even quit watching the PBA.

Why?

Because the presence of farm teams derail the spirit of competition. They provide advantage to several teams, that are really against the spirit of competition.

On the other hand, we still have independent teams. I am talking about Alaska Aces, Phoenix Super LPG and Rain or Shine Elasto Painters.

And in this offseason, Alaska and Phoenix exhibited to the public that independents teams still have power in the league.

Alaska showed that by being firm about the trade request of Vic Manuel. Teams from the two conglomerates tried to fry The Muscle Man for a package that is not equitable to Manuel's value.

Alaska waited and found the right one.

On the other hand, Phoenix was suddenly being questioned about its capacity to compete because of evidence of cost-cutting. Especially when they sealed the Calvin Abueva trade.

They answered that by trading for a superstar in Vic Manuel. They also sent their 2021 1st to an independent team. If they are in the PBA to earn extra revenue, they should have sold that, just like how the other farm teams were doing.

So, if you value parity in the PBA. I hope, you can respect what Alaska and Phoenix are doing.
