PBA Free-Agency: TNT signs a center and a defensive stopper!

Knowing that their first-round pick for the upcoming draft is not already available to them. And that they lack trade assets to improve their team, TNT just went and sign two more free-agents.

They signed Ping Exciminiano, who honed his skills with the Alaska Aces before a trade to Rain or Shine. Misfortunes watched up to him.

TNT though is willing to take a risk with Ping. Achilles injury usually depletes the athleticism and overall skill level of a player.

I expect that to happen to Ping because when he was healthy, he relies heavily on his athleticism. I do not think he will get a big role with the team because TNT is already deep on their guard rotation. But in the playoffs, they may need a lockdown defender like him.

Dave Marcelo is the other guy and I think, their best signing so far. Nobody expects Dave to be a 20 minutes per game guy, but having a gritty bigman, who will provide physicality if needed, will be good for TNT.

Other than his physique, Dave's willingness to develop his three-point shot will bode well with what coach Chot Reyes wants to do.

Now that they have signed three guys, I am wondering about the guys that TNT will let go.

Harvey Carey's spot is available because of his retirement. Thus, we expect two TNT players last year to be sent into the free-agency.
