Can you guess the number of players that are currently under contract with the TNT Tropang Giga?
The answer is 19. I already counted the #4 pick of the 2020 PBA draft, Mikey Williams but not the other three selections in the draft.
One of those 19 players is Brian Heruela. Yes, the guy that Phoenix added for the trade package for Vic Manuel.
Is this a good signing for TNT?
This is an excellent signing for TNT. The system of coach Chot Reyes requires 48 minutes of competent above-average slashing and kicking from the guard position and with Heruela being added to Jayson Castro, Mikey Williams and RR Pogoy, that is now possible.
Heruela is also a good defensive guard, who has the strength to face-off with the smaller wings in the league.
If this is a piece of good news for TNT, how about Alaska?
It just shows that Alaska lost the Vic Manuel trade. So, they ended up trading Manuel for a 2020 1st, an improvement from #7 to #6 and from #19 to #16.
That package is not equitable to the Muscle Man, who is a proven scorer of a playoff team. Unfortunately, even though Alaska did the right thing of standing their ground and find the best deal possible, they ended up with a bad one.
