PBA Trade Rumors: Ginebra, SMB or Magnolia; Malonzo's destination is?

Joshua Munzon is assured to play one season with Terrafirma Dyip because of the rule that #1 pick are not tradeable in their first year.

Yes. Jamie Malonzo is already available for one of the three SMC teams, Magnolia, Ginebra or San Miguel.

So, who needs Malonzo the most?

#3 Brgy. Ginebra San Miguel
Ginebra just created their new twin tower in Christian Standhardinger and Japeth Aguilar. Aguilar 34 years old but I think he can still be a credible starter, three years from now. Of course, Standhardinger will still be there.

They also have a Prince Caperal and Arvin Tolentino on their bench. Two guys who can be the partner of Standhardinger, moving forward.

#2 San Miguel Beermen
The combo of Moala Tautuaa and June Mar Fajardo will surely dominate the minutes in their bigman rotation. But, Fajardo already has some injury issues. So, in a way, grabbing a Malonzo may also work very well for them.

#1 Magnolia Hotshots
This is an easy one. Magnolia is facing the potential retirement of a Marc Pingris. Actually, even if he plays this year, there is a good chance that, this is already his final year.

Rafi Reavis is also 44 years old already. Yes, he can still play but I am pretty sure he will be retiring soon.

So, grabbing a player who can be a frontliner like a Malonzo is an easy decision for Magnolia in the future, but not during the 2021 PBA draft.
