There are two interesting trade rumors that we need to discuss before we witnessed the 2020 PBA draft. Yes, it is really the draft of 2020. It was just scheduled this 2021.
So, the first one is a very fresh hint from Snow Badua. According to him, San Miguel Beermen contacted Northport and he hinted that they are offering Chris Ross for the #2 pick. To get whom?
It seems like they want to get Mikey Williams. The same guy that TNT was targeting.
There is a good chance that SMB is doing this to out-maneuver TNT from getting Williams. Maybe, they think that a superb guard creator like Mikey is too important for the scheme of TNT.
Nevertheless, I actually think that TNT could be benefitting from it if Jamie Malonzo ended up as their guy. Even though Williams is an elite guard, it is still harder to find an elite forward like Malonzo.
A trio of Malonzo, Rosario and Erram look capable of getting an advantage against any frontline in the league.
One more rumor that we need to look at is the supposed interest of TNT on the #5 pick of Rain or Shine. So, who could be the target of Rain or Shine?
I think Ray Parks could be that guy.
Although, I doubt Parks will actually want to sign a contract with Rain or Shine, knowing that it will be hard for the franchise to give him the rumored contract that he is looking for.
