2021 PBA Draft: What if Magnolia is planning to TANK the 2021 season?

I think Magnolia fans are already tired of my non-stop spitting of how illogical was their Jerrick Ahanmisi-pick in the most recent draft.

Here is their frontline rotation. Ian Sangalang-Calvin Abueva-Rafi Reavis-Aris Dionisio-Kyle Pascual-Jackson Corpuz.

I decided not to include Marc Pingris anymore because he has not decided about his future. And remember Rafi is already 43 years old.

So, even if their acquisition of Calvin Abueva was thought by Magnolia to fortify their frontline, you can still see how shallow it is.

An injury to Sangalang and I think, Magnolia will be bombarded in the paint for 48 minutes by the title contenders.

But wait. What if, this was all by design? What if the acquisition of Calvin Abueva was actually their hint that the team will be having a major facelift going into the next season?

And looking at the upcoming potential 2021 PBA draft pool, there are some pretty interesting bigman that could be available there!

Leading them is Justine Baltazar. Even coach Tab Baldwin fell in love with him already. He will be an interesting fit next to Sangalang and Abueva because of his quickness and skillset.

But of course, does Magnolia even need to tank?

Wait. When was the last time that SMC farm teams gave a superstar to Magnolia?
