PBA Controversy: PBA means "PaLiga ni Boss Al" could be TRUE!

The PBA met with members of the IATF of the national government last Wednesday. They agreed that the league can only start their upcoming season if the number of cases goes down.

I actually agree with the current premise. I think, the league has considered every angle and that starting only when the number of cases is much lower, is the best path.

Now, the main talking point here was the guy that commissioner Willie Marcial brought to Malacanang. It was coach Al Francis Chua.

Chua is not a member of the PBA board. He is the Sports director of the San Miguel Corporation. The looks of it are pretty revealing.

San Miguel Corporation has the biggest interest in the league. They maximized the original concept of the league. A league where they can market the products of their company. Knowing how connected SMB and Ginebra to the PBA in the minds of the people, they cannot let it just be stagnant.

It helps SMC that they may have the best relationship to the current administration.

Now, that interest of SMC is really being juiced out by the conglomerate. I think, they realized that PBA may have a hard time surviving without SMB, Ginebra and Magnolia. Can you imagine how much fan base will be dismayed if these three teams will disappear from the league?

Thus, they can bend the laws the most.

So, they can do what have been doing.

But, is there a way to go out from the shadow of the SMC? I think there is but it is a path that the league may never take.
