PBA Power Ranking: Wing Rotation - Is Alaska in TOP 6?

Even though the rising COVID-19 cases are threatening the return of the PBA, we continue to prepare for it with our power ranking per position.

For this session, we will discuss the wing position. Please, do not be shocked if we saw some players in two positions because they are more than capable of doing it.

#12 Blackwater - Simon Enciso, Ed Daquioag, Joshua Torralba, Matt Salem
It is really hard to see any sign of life in the current line-up of Blackwater. Their wing rotation is basically a group of good role players.

#11 Northport - Kevin Ferrer, Garvo Lanete, Paolo Taha, Jerrick Balanza
I think this is a fine rotation in the wing but it does lack some talent. Unless Ferrer will really embrace his superstar potential.

#10 NLEX - Jericho Cruz, Kenneth Ighalo, Don Trollano, Bong Galanza
This depth is lacking more star power compared to Northport but in terms of overall skillset, I think NLEX is more complete.

#9 Alaska - Jeron Teng, Robbie Herndon, Gab Banal, Kevin Racal
I am intrigued by this rotation because of its size and overwhelming ability to handle the ball. But they are also badly in need of outside shooting.

#8 Rain or Shine - Rey Nambatac, Adrian Wong, James Yap, Franky Johnson
A pretty small wing rotation but I think offensively, they are more reliable than the rotations above them.

#7 Terrafirma - Joshua Munzon, Roosevelt Adams, Gelo Alolino, Reden Celda
I think this speaks a lot about the fact that a new franchise can actually build a good team because of the draft process. Munzon and Adams' overall talent carried Terrafirma to this spot.

#6 Meralco - Bong Quinto, Allein Maliksi, Alvin Pasaol, Aaron Black
According to coach Norman Black, he expects Alvin to play more of the wing instead of the PF position. That will make the wing rotation of Meralco, very interesting because Alvin is a rim attacker that can bend defenses.

#5 Phoenix - Matthew Wright, RJ Jazul, Davon Potts, Jansen Rios
So, Matthew Wright carried Phoenix to #5. I think, Wright is that good. He is a wing who can easily be the playmaker of his team for the majority of his playing time.

#4 Magnolia - Paul Lee, Jerrick Ahanmisi, Rome Dela Rosa, Justin Melton
We can say that this rotation is mirroring the structure of Phoenix. But, the supporting cast of Paul is way stronger than that of Wright.

#3 San Miguel - Terrence Romeo, Marcio Lassiter, Von Pessumal, CJ Perez
This is a pretty hard decision but due to the injury of Terrence, I decided to put them at #3. Still, this rotation has a good balance of scorer and off-ball shooter/finishers.

#2 TNT - RR Pogoy, Mikey Williams, Ryan Reyes, Samboy De Leon
You can say that I am buying the hype of Mikey with this ranking. Will he be as good as Stanley? We will see. Nevertheless, RR is still one of the elite offense-defense wings in the league and Reyes and Samboy are both elite defenders.

#1 Ginebra - Stanley Pringle, Scottie Thompson, Jeff Chan, Brian Enriquez
The star power of the Pringle-Thompson combo just overwhelms the competition. Then their supporting cast of Chan and Enriquez looks reliable too.
