So, Kobe Paras and Thirdy may not be available for the 2021 PBA draft. Fortunately, the draft is still as loaded as ever.
#1 BWE Justine Baltazar - With Kobe Paras looking unlikely for this upcoming draft, the #1 pick is looking like Baltazar and no one else. The talent of level is so obvious that coach Tab Baldwin became his fan.
#2 DYIP Jason Brickman - With Joshua Munzon, Roosevelt Adams and Isaac Go at their disposal, Terrafirma may want to go for the best Pinoy point guard not yet in the PBA.
#3 NLEX Taane Samuel - Hoping that Samuel may want to return to the PBA instead of continuing his semi-pro career in New Zealand NBL. He is currently a teammate of Tuffins and the guy is dominating.
#4 ALA Juan Gomez de Liano - Jayvee Casio, the veteran PG of Alaska, is their oldest player. Thus, Alaska may want to get a young PG that will takeover his role in the future.
#5 NOR Jeo Ambohot - The connection of the Northport manager Bonnie Tan to Letran will make this choice of Northport, an easy one. Ambohot is part of the Gilas 23 for 23 because he has something special.
#6 ROS Brandon Ganuelas-Rosser - After acquiring several point guards in the 2020 PBA draft, Rain or Shine may want to get a giant to fortify the future of the franchise.
#7 ALA Jeremiah Gray - Gray was one of the targets of Alaska in the 2020 PBA draft. If he is still available at this point, I expect them to scope him up. I do not think his ceiling is as high as that of Munzon.
#8 MAG Brandon Bates - Magnolia should stop playing around and start grabbing some centers. Bates is an interesting option because of his legit size. Bates is the kind of bigman that they can mold into what they need.
#9 ROS Ricci Rivero - I do not think that it was a coincidence that Rain or Shine once had Chris Tiu and James Yap. Rivero is in the same vein. Although, his basketball career is lagging behind his showbiz career.
#10 BWE Javi Gomez de Liano - UP is connected pretty well with the MVP group. Javi is also the most recognizable name available at this point. Javi brings an interesting skill set.
#11 BWE Christian Fajarito - Fajarito will return to Letran after playing a season in the MPBL. I saw enough skills and aggressiveness from him to say that he is a credible 1st round prospect.
#12 BGSM Frank Yu - He was the NCAA Finals MVP. He also has a very interesting story of triumph. He is more of a floor general with a knack for scoring. I think, he has the potential to be the next starting PG of Ginebra.
