PBA Free Agency: Magnolia is creating a "guard agency" because...

Magnolia is easily the most perplexing team in the league. They have a clear need in their frontline and a clear surplus of guards.

What did they do?

They signed Loren Brill into a one-year contract! Brill is a guard who was a 3rd round draftee of Northport in the most recent draft.

He was signed in a one-year contract and coach Chito Victolero said that they will treat him as a project because he is only around 22 years old. 

Now, with Brill, Magnolia is now looking at a guard rotation of Mark Barroca-Jio Jalalon-Justin Melton-Jerrick Ahanmisi-Alvin Abundo-Loren Brill.

I even decided to consider Paul Lee as a pure wing already.

Now, why do they have that deep rotation in their guard? Because coach Chito Victolero actually utilized a two-guard rotation for almost the entirety of the game.

His defensive scheme is also anchored to the pesky defense of his guards. They create pressure that really shakes the offense of their opponents.

That defense then helps them in creating their offense.
