Barangay Ginebra San Miguel drafted Ken Holmqvist and Brian Enriquez in the 2020 PBA draft. But according to some sources, Jerrick Ahanmisi was the guy that they wanted.
One source of trade rumor posted that Ginebra always gets what they want. He is basically implying that Ginebra may try to make a move to get him.
But, do they really need to?
Brian Enriquez was the pick of Ginebra using their 13th pick. From what I saw in the highlights of Brian, there is a good chance that he can be a much better shooter.
His form is fluid and clean. And his form is pristine either through catch and shoot or off-the-ball. His ball-handling also looks good enough that he could create shots for himself.
The point is, Ginebra may actually get themselves a better shooting prospect in Enriquez.
Now, if they do want to add Ahanmisi and keep Enriquez, they will need the help of a third team to do a trade with Magnolia, their sister team.
Knowing that Ginebra is loaded with bigs, they can actually give up a Prince Caperal and not miss a bit. A bigman rotation of Aguilar-Standhardinger-Devance-Mariano-Tolentino, will surely be capable of facing any other bigman rotation in the league.
On the other hand, Magnolia will get a bigman that they badly need.
