PBA Trade Rumors: Ginebra rookie will not be the Jokic of the PBA

It seems like the long delay to the opening of the new season has bored coach Tim Cone that he has been talking a lot to the media.

One latest proclamation of coach Tim was about their rookie, Ken Holmqvist. Coach Tim said that Ken is a typical European bigman. He can handle the ball. He can hit three-pointers. He can post up. And that he is comparable to Joe Devance.

Being compared to Joe is already a big deal because Devance was one of the few 6'5 and taller who can actually do the things that coach Tim narrated.

Now, he was also compared to a Nikola Jokic.

Yes. The superstar of the Denver Nuggets. The guy that is already being anointed as the Greatest Denver Nuggets' player ever.

And he is already the frontrunner for the Most Valuable Player of the NBA this 2021. You know why? Because he produced 26.4 points, 10.9 rebounds, 8.5 assists, 41.1% 3FG and 57% FG per game.

Now, why is coach Tim Cone suddenly comparing the #12 pick of the draft to an NBA legend? Can Holmqvist really be the Jokic of the PBA?

Nope. The passing vision and acumen of Jokic is actually way above the normal level, imaginable. He is very unique and special.

What I actually think is happening here is that coach Tim is trying to build up the trade value of Holmqvist.

Why?

Because he even revealed that Ken actually have a lot of teammates ahead of him.

He is more likely to be the next trade chip of Ginebra than their next star.
