Snow Badua was back in the business of posting PBA trade rumors. Just after he survived the COVID-19 virus.
Now, in one of his latest posts, he said that one management is looking for a good package for their marquee player.
The clue was. "sisipol muna ako."
So, the guy that the fans first pointed to was Paul Lee. Of course, because of the "sisipol" part. Another one was the word "marquee" that they used to point to Mark Barroca.
So, the main potential candidates for this rumor are all Magnolia players. Add the current fiasco regarding the contract of Jerrick Ahanmisi and it seems like Magnolia is in a pretty unstable situation right now.
It is hard for me to believe that Magnolia will trade Paul. By all indications, he was their main guy in the past several years. Unless they are getting a guy that can be their ace player, it is hard to see them make a move.
On the other hand, Barroca is already face-to-face with father time. He is more likely to be given up. Especially if Magnolia will end up with a top-notch player.
I can see why the management of Magnolia will try to make another big move after acquiring Calvin Abueva.
Even with Abueva, they still have one glaring weakness in three-point shooting and in their frontline. If they want to fix this, they may need to make a big trade.
