PBA Trade Rumors: Magnolia is not trading Barroca to Meralco

One Twitter page continues to post a lot of trade rumors that PBA fans are eating up to. This past week, he posted that Magnolia rejected an offer from Meralco for Mark Barroca.

The funny part was, it hinted that Magnolia would have been interested if Baser Amer is still there. So, they want a guard for a guard?

I think that is hard to believe.

If they are going to trade Barroca to Meralco, it is more logical for them to ask for a bigman. Unfortunately, I do not think Meralco will give up Raymond Almazan. Almazan is the anchor of their defense.

But, Cliff Hodge could be an interesting option because he can play the power forward position and will bring toughness to their frontcourt.

A much bigger name will be Mac Belo. Although, he is also not a center. What he will bring though is a wide array of skills that can fit well between Calvin Abueva and Ian Sangalang.

Actually, a trio of Calvin Abueva, Mac Belo and Aris Dionisio on the floor will be a superb defensive backbone because of its versatility and defensive instinct.

Nevertheless, I still expect Magnolia to make a move before the start of the season. I think, they have a clear issue to resolve.
