PBA Power Ranking: The Top 10 2021 Rookie of the Year candidate!

I cannot wait to witness the first season of the 2020 PBA draft batch. It is a deep batch with a lot of interesting pieces.

#10 Jerrick Ahanmisi
Of course, the lower end of this list is basically the guys with 1/100 chance of doing it. One guy that you can put some bet to that is Jerrick because his #1 skill is the #1 need of the team that drafted him.

#9 David Murrell
When coach Yeng Guiao is impressed with a player, you should listen. David is an athletic freak. Coach Yeng is the coach that you can bet on, to turn Murrell into a starter right away.

#8 Larry Muyang
Muyang is not that high in this ranking because the core five of Phoenix is already settled. Nevertheless, Muyang may still have a chance to steal the thunder from his veteran teammates.

#7 Calvin Oftana
Oftana is not in the top 5 because coach Yeng Guiao usually does not give enough playing time to rookies to come up with good statline to compete for the ROY award.

#6 Alvin Pasaol
Alvin is a superstar-in-the-making. If he hits his strides right away, I expect coach Norman Black to run with him and give him the horse to catch up to the ROY race.

#5 James Laput
The Terrafirma management and coaching staff are hyping up the biggest player of the draft. By being the biggest player, Laput has the biggest chance of providing a surprising statline this year.

#4 Ben Adamos
With the departure of Vic Manuel, Adamos has a clear chance to settle as a starter right away. It helps that they are training his three-point shooting already. That could be his ticket to the award.

#3 Jamie Malonzo
Malonzo has the athleticism and skill level to be a productive first year. He also looks as an excellent fit with Greg Slaughter.

#2 Mikey Williams
Mikey will play for a title contender and will be trusted to replace the role of Bobby Ray Parks. If he can do that, he will have a much better narrative in grabbing the ROY from the #1.

#1 Joshua Munzon
I think Joshua and Mikey are the top candidates right now. With more assurance of playing time, Joshua will get the lead for now. If Joshua can carry Terrafirma to the playoffs, he will lock-in this award.
