As I have emphasized in one of my articles recently, PBA teams have brands to protect. The cheating issue of Scottie Thompson will turn off a portion of the fan base.
And some of those fans have reached the point of campaigning that Ginebra will trade the popular elite rebounder.
You can see that in the picture below.
As you can see in the picture scan, the petition in the Change.org has garnered more than 300+ support already. It speaks a lot about the impact of what Scottie did.
Now, I do not think the portion of Ginebra fan base who are disappointed with what happened is big enough to force Ginebra to give him up.
Also, Ginebra is not really known for being a basketball franchise of ethical and morally right players. That is not the image of the team.
Thus, Ginebra fans who want Scottie to remain should not be worried for this upcoming season. Although, they still need to be alert about another cheating episode by Scottie.
As women usually say, a cheater will always be a cheater.
Ginebra fans should also observe the chemistry of Aljon Mariano and Scottie who are close friends and are affected with what happened.

I admit na dismaya ako sa mga nalaman ko at nangyari.. pero move on na tayo sa issue na yan , magalit man tayo di na maibabalik ang dati... maging masaya na lang tayo sa kanila , sa bagong buhay na bubuuin nila ni ate jinky... isa ako sa fan ni kuya scott .. at patuloy pa din akong susuporta kahit ano mangyari😊😊

ReplyDeleteEh bakit mo susupalpalin ng galit sa mismong laro kung alam mo na mangyayari? May personal na.buhay at dahilan yang mga taong yan. Hindi yan mga robot. Sumuporta tayo sa buong team at hindi lang sa iisang tao. Alam nio ba kung ano plus minus ni Scottie sa mga laro eh difference maker yan.
