PBA Trade Rumors: Is Magnolia trading for the most underrated player in the PBA?

Magnolia continues to be at the center of the trade rumor mill. They are part of the buzzed Magnolia-Alaska-Ginebra-Phoenix-Rain or Shine trade rumor.

One of my questions about the rumor is that it lacks an SMC farm team. I cannot even remember an SMC team making a multi-team trade without one of their farm squads.

Now, we have a rumor connecting Northport to Magnolia.

According to the rumor, Sean Anthony is being targeted by Magnolia. Sean has been a deserving All Star in the last few years now, but has failed to get the call-up.

Sean produced 14.5 points, 9.8 rebounds, 5.5 assists, 1.8 steals, 36% FG and 32% 3FG per game. He is basically in the same mold as Calvin Abueva.

Anthony will be an excellent replacement for Marc Pingris because of Sean's energy, hustle, and grit. He applies that very well on defense. So, defensively, he can be an excellent glue.

The only problem is that Anthony is not big enough to play the center position. Pingris was able to do that and that provided a lot of breathing room to Magnolia.

Although, offensively, Magnolia should be much better because Anthony will provide a lot of things. It is pretty obvious with his stats.

If this trade happens, Magnolia's core is looking deadlier than before.
