PBA Trade Rumors: Did Ginebra consider trading for Calvin Abueva?

Christian Standhardinger and Calvin Abueva were the two superstar additions into the camp of the real San Miguel Corporation PBA franchises.

The fans of Barangay Ginebra and Magnolia were both excited to see these household names do their duty. Unfortunately for Ginebra fans, and fortunately for Magnolia supporters, Standhardinger failed to deliver while Abueva was the best player in their victory against Phoenix Super LPG, the former team of the Beast.

Standhardinger recorded 8 points, 10 rebounds and 4 turnovers. While Abueva produced 26 points, 10 rebounds and 3 assists.

This prompted Twitter persona, PBA on the go, to post that long hair, referring to Al Francis Chua, was regretful after realizing that Standhardinger was not a good fit with Ginebra while Calvin Abueva blossomed in his debut game.

It was not directly stated but it seems like it is entailing that Ginebra may have the option last year of trading for Calvin, instead of Standhardinger.

The reality is, Standhardinger to Ginebra is easy to see as a hard fit because Christian and Japeth cannot space the floor and the team around them will not also provide that much relief from beyond the arc.

But, talent is still more important.

And knowing that we are talking about a basketball mind like Chua, it is hard for me to believe that he is already regretting after just a single game.
