PBA Trade Rumors: Is Ginebra's Aljon Mariano injured or on the TRADE block?

Remember one of the biggest relationship disasters in 2021? Yes, I am talking about Scottie Thompson proposing to his long-time girlfriend in January but ended up marrying another girl five months after.

One of the side effects of it was the potential friction of Aljon Mariano and Scottie because Mariano and his wife are close to Scottie and his ex-fiancee.

Mariano will not play this tournament because he went for surgery to remove a bone spur on his foot. The surgery could sideline him for six-to-ten weeks, or simply the entire duration of the Philippine Cup.

Now, bone spur are the type of injuries that players can play through. Of course, it has risk of further hurting the foot.

That reality made a lot of fans to question if the Scottie situation prompted Mariano to undergo the surgery and potentially miss the entire Philippine Cup.

This question was also raised by PBA on the go, "Aljon Mariano's injury is called "iskati injury"."

The good thing about him being sidelined is that it opens up playing time for the frontliners of Ginebra. Even with the arrival of Standhardinger, Caperal and Tolentino will still be able to play because the playing time of Mariano is now available.

The question is, what if Ginebra succeeds without Mariano?

Knowing his situation with Scottie, will they decide to let him go?
