PBA Analysis: The 5 BIGGEST questions as 2021 All-Filipino Cup resumes!

The 2021 Philippine Cup will finally resume this week! We are just about to cross the halfway point of the elimination round!

So, what are the five biggest questions that we have as we enter another bubble to finish out a tournament!

Will the exodus continue?
There is a chance that Bobby Ray Parks will be the last PBA player to join the next season of Japan B League. But next year could be a much different story. With the PBA embracing rules that will allow it, I expect more PBA players to go. The question is, will some of them do it this year?

Will the Kraken appear?
The Junemar Fajardo who is averaging 10.8 points, 8.3 rebounds and 47% FG per game, is not the Kraken version. If the Kraken fails to return, San Miguel may not have enough power to win back the Philippine Cup crown.

Where are the big trades?
There are a lot of trades that are being rumored. The question is, will the PBA allow trades during the semi-bubble? I hope they will not because that was one of the reasons why the 2020 PBA bubble was so much fun. Or else, we may see Bollick, Jalalon, Slaughter and etc. changing teams.

Is Standhardinger too big to handle for Ginebra?
Standhardinger is struggling in Ginebra. Ginebra is struggling also as he struggles. The question now is, with limited time to practice and with a rush tournament, can Ginebra find their peak at the right time with Christian? Or they will end up concluding that incorporating him in this type of environment is too big to handle.

Is PBA one COVID-19 disaster away from dying?
The fact that players need to help out the league to sustain their tournament, is a big sign that they are in trouble. The question is, what if COVID-19 infection managed to reach and explode inside the bubble. Can the PBA survive it?
