PBA Analysis: How bright is the future of Alaska?

If you look at the current core of the Alaska Aces, there is nothing too ecstatic about it. Yousef Taha, Abu Tratter, Michael DiGregorio, Jeron Teng, Maverick Ahanmisi, Jvee Casio, Robbie Herndon and Gab Banal are a deep core to have but not as good as the cores of San Miguel Beermen, Barangay Ginebra San Miguel, TNT Tropang Giga and Magnolia Hotshots.

Finding Yousef Taha and Gab Banal in the free-agency market provided Alaska two quality players that can be crucial for their depth or simply utilized as trade asset.

Taha is currently averaging 11.4 points, 9.6 rebounds, 2.2 assists, 1.0 steal, 1.2 blocks and 46% FG per game.

Gab Banal is also producing a good statline of 11.8 points, 3.2 rebounds, 1.4 assists, 1.0 steal and 52% FG and 54% 3FG per game.

If Gab can sustain his torrid three-point shooting, he can easily be a capable playoff-winning starter for Alaska.

Now, here is the exciting part. Allyn Bulanadi, the 2019 Gilas draftee of the team, is still waiting on the wings.

Bulanadi is easily the kind of creator that Alaska badly needs right now. Teng can create but Allyn is more complete because of his three-point shooting.

And, do not forget about the 2021 1st of Phoenix that they currently hold. That 1st is currently in-line to be a top 4 pick with the bad start of Phoenix. Can that pick turn out to be a Kobe Paras, Justine Baltazar, Thirdy Ravena or Dwight Ramos?

Possible.
