PBA Analysis: Is San Miguel about to become CJ Perez' team?

When we saw the trade of CJ Perez to San Miguel Beermen, the most common reaction was the Beermen was adding another star.

CJ Perez, Terrence Romeo, Arwind Santos, Moala Tautuaa, Chris Ross, Marcio Lassiter, Alex Cabagnot and the reigning, defending MVP Junemar Fajardo, is easily the top core in the PBA.

What we did not realize is the possibility that the Beermen may have just traded for the new face of the franchise.

Fajardo was coming of an injury and he was not playing like the Kraken in their first several games. There is a chance that he is not yet 100% but before he even get to 100% health, we just heard about the passing of his mother.

Knowing that Fajardo is a proud Mama's boy, I expect him to be affected by his mother's death, negatively. Fans can hope that Junemar will turn it into a motivation but in reality, that seldom happens.

Now, Terrence Romeo is supposed to be the next candidate. Unfortunately, the injury bug is so attached to Terrence that it is hard to expect him to be healthy for an entire tournament.

And knowing the age of Ross, Cabagnot, Lassiter, Santos and Tautuaa, CJ Perez ends up as the best candidate to takeover the franchise.

Fortunately for CJ, it will not be as hard as being the main guy in Terrafirma. He just needs to be aggressive and make shots when San Miguel needs it the most.
