PBA Analysis: Ginebra should just GIVE UP against Phoenix

Never say die. A phrase that was associated with Barangay Ginebra San Miguel. A phrase that made them the most popular ball club in the country.

The message of the phrase is simple. The team will not give up no matter what, as long as they still have a glimpse of hope.

Ginebra fans, did you saw that in the game of your favorite team against Meralco Bolts? Wherein Meralco controlled the game from end to finish?

Christian Standhardinger, LA Tenorio and Stanley Pringle all played for more than 40 minutes. Unfortunately, they still faltered.

I am going to argue that Ginebra still have the top 2 player of that match against Meralco but all throughout the game, Ginebra played like a listless team.

In short, I did not see the Never Say Die spirit.

Fortunately for them, Northport Batang Pier did the right thing and demolished the Alaska Aces in the 2nd game.

That provided Brgy. Ginebra with the right to play the Phoenix Super LPG for the eight spot in the playoffs.

But, is it really worth it if they will just falter against TNT in the quarterfinals? How about securing a top 4 pick for now.

That seems to be a much better decision.
