PBA Playoffs Prediction: Can Magnolia overcome Rain or Shine?

The playoffs are almost here. So, let me provide my prediction for each series. For each series, I will provide the three X-Factors.

MERALCO- NLEX
Assists
Alvin Pasaol
Rebounding

NLEX is currently the best team in terms of assists while Meralco is at #4. That tells us that both teams are running a scheme with a lot of ball movement.

Pasaol is slowly building up steam and coach Norman Black is actually adding more minutes into his playing time. Meralco will have a much easier time if he can continue with his good play.

In terms of rebounding, Meralco is currently at #2 and NLEX is #5.

PREDICTION
I am actually amazed by the good numbers of NLEX. Nevertheless, Meralco still has that twice-to-beat edge and I think that will come in handy for them.

Meralco will win this one but NLEX may get the first game.

MAGNOLIA-RAIN OR SHINE
Three-points efficiency
Beau Belga
Pace

Rain or Shine is the slowest team in the league. Actually, they are much faster than last year but remained to be the slowest. How should Magnolia adjust to it?

With Ian Sangalang undoubtedly the top giant in this clash, it is important that the bigman of Rain or Shine with the most playing time play well.

Believe it or not, but Magnolia is the most efficient team from beyond the arc in the elimination round. That is a crucial part of their success. Can Rain or Shine stop it?

PREDICTION
Rain or Shine is a top 3 team in terms of the opponent's three-point scoring. It means that they defend three-point shots well.

I also do not think that Rain or Shine has the bigman that can handle Sangalang very well for the entirety of the series.

So, I will go with Magnolia Hotshots.
