PBA Real Talk! The #1 reason why Filipino ballers are joining Japan B League

Dwight Ramos will be the 8th Filipino player that will play as an import in the Japan B League. This is a big blow to the potential run of Ateneo in UAAP.

Dwight will join Bobby Ray Parks, Thirdy Ravena, the Gomez de Liano brothers, Kobe Paras, Kemark Carino and Kiefer Ravena.

Here is an interesting thing, Dwight could have joined the 2020 PBA draft but decided not to and instead of waiting for the 2021 PBA draft, he signed with Japan.

We already have two PBA stars who decided to leave the PBA for the young league in Japan. So, why are they doing it?

The usual reason that you will read is that playing in Japan is much better in terms of financial benefits. But the reason with bigger weight could be the competition level.

Japan has surpassed the PBA in terms of quality. Yes. It is heavily anchored in the number of imports that they allow.

People are actually expecting more to join International league. And if we actually simplify the things discussed above and connect it to the PBA, the real reason why Filipino ballers are leaving will be revealed.

The PBA stagnated. Instead of advancing as a league and go with the current flow of globalization, the decision-makers in the past few decades decided to just be defensive with their stakes in the league.

So, instead of finding ways to be a Global league, they found ways to add control and juice out every penny and power that they can get from the PBA.

And the result?

A league that COVID-19 can kill, anytime.
