PBA Analysis: Alaska made a mistake of giving up on Abueva?

The current Most Valuable Player's race may turn out to be one of the most fascinating ones in the last decade.

Calvin Abueva is one of the strongest candidates as he did not only have an awesome elimination round but he is also consistent in the ongoing playoffs.

One of the most surprising things about Abueva now is his self-control. Although, he can still be physical like before. It is not ending up to ejections and technical fouls already because he may have really found a way to control his emotions.

And man, The Beast with controlled emotion is really a superb player that Alaska fans should at least wonder, did they really do everything to help Calvin control his emotions?

There is no doubt that Calvin is one of the five most popular players in the league right now. And it seems like he is also one of the top 5 best players.

And Alaska gave him up for a 1st round pick and Karl Dehesa.

I mean, Calvin in Alaska was building up steam in the middle of the last decade. It looks like an excellent marriage that will help Alaska find another path to a good run.

That did not happen. Alaska gave up on him.

Was it worth it? Or, could have it been better if they put more resources into helping him focus and control his emotions?
