PBA Analysis: Ginebra is making a wrong decision with bringing back Justin Brownlee

There is an 80% chance that the statement in the title of this article will be wrong. Justin Brownlee is no doubt the most successful import in this century of the PBA.

Betting against him is a lost cause. So, the statement above is just there to get the attention of Ginebra fans about the possible risk of bringing him back.

Yes. There is a risk of bringing back an import that produced 27.9 points, 13.4 rebounds, 8.0 assists, 2.0 steals and 1.1 blocks per game.

What are the risks?

The first one could be much more troubling chemistry issues inside the court. If Standhardinger, Pringle, Tenorio and Thompson already were disastrous in finding the right mix of taking shots. What more if they add someone who should be entitled to take 20 or more shots.

Brownlee is a good off-the-ball finisher but most of the time, he still needs the ball for some time to get into his groove.

The other risk is about Christian Standhardinger.

Standhardinger is being rumored to be getting interest from Japan B League teams but up to this point he is still with Ginebra.

Right now, it is safe to assume that Christian is the happiest if he is the main guy. With the arrival of Brownlee, he may end up as the 3rd option. And that could further push him to leaving the organization and go International.
