PBA Controversy: Magnolia-TNT finals, LUTO?

The rivalry between San Miguel Corporation and the MVP group is as real as you can get in professional sports.

But, it is still shocking to see an owner, Manny V. Pangilinan, openly questions the officiating of a game in the finals between Magnolia Hotshots and TNT Tropang Giga.

He said that it was the worst officiated game that he ever watched. Is he right?

Actually, nope. Yes, there are obvious wrong calls that were made. The famous phantom call on Brian Heruela during a three-point attempt by Paul Lee.

Also, the physicality in the game was much higher than in the first two meetings. We even saw Jackson Corpuz causing Troy Rosario, a broken finger. I mean, the breaking was seen.

All those unraveling in game 3 have painted the ongoing series as a cooking show by the San Miguel Corporation.

The numbers are supporting that claim. Two crucial numbers to check are personal fouls and turnovers as these are the two things that referees decide on.

All throughout the first three games, TNT was called for more fouls. Actually, the difference is quite staggering as TNT was called for 9.7 fouls more.

Turnover-wise, they are even.
