PBA Controversy: So, the PBA will turn blind to a player potentially ending the career of a national team member?

Troy Rosario was having a bounce-back tournament. Last year, a lot of people were disappointed with his numbers.

This year, he averaged 10.7 points, 7.9 rebounds and 43% FG per game. Not seen in his statsheet is his versatile defense.

He is a crucial part of the ongoing pursuit of TNT of the Philippine Cup title. Unfortunately, in the 3:02 mark of the 3rd quarter of game 3, he suffered an injury after a bump from Jackson Corpuz.

Troy suffered a dislocated finger, that needs an immediate operation, and a spinal shock where his left leg motor was affected.

That last effect could be career-ending for him. There is a chance that he can return to the court but to expect him to be 100% right away and even after one to two years could be extra-optimistic.

And unfortunately, the PBA just decided to give a financial penalty to Jackson Corpuz.

The reality is, it was very clear that Corpuz pushed Troy to be outbalanced in the air and Corpuz did not do anything to help him from falling into the ground.

It doesn't matter if the intent was just to give a hard foul and not really to injure the guy. The reality is, his decision to do that gives a huge career-altering injury blow to Troy.

Jackson may not be a dirty player but what transpired in that game deserved suspension from games.

I am pretty sure the PBA management is already crafting a defense of their decision. Do not fall for it.

Or else there will be more Troy Rosario-incident in the future.
