PBA Trade Analysis: Magnolia traded for a 6'10 giant!

Thanks to PBA on the Go, we heard about this trade before it happened. So, the rumored James Laput to Magnolia was just approved.

Was it fair? They got Justin Melton and Kyle Pascual for James Laput.

Nope. This could be a much more acceptable trade if Melton and Pascual was utilized more. Yes, Laput was also not been used that much but he is still 6'10 and just a rookie.

While Melton and Pascual are already very near their retirement. The argument that Melton is just not being used that much because of how loaded Magnolia's backcourt is should not matter at all because the trade value of a player should be primarily anchored to its current performance.

TERRAFIRMA
So, they traded for Alex Cabagnot and just have a breakout tournament by Juami Tiongson and yet they wanted another guard?

This is very sad for Terrafirma after they just delivered a good run last tournament. I hope the PBA will open their eyes to the damage that Terrafirma is doing to the league.

MAGNOLIA
Getting one of the four tallest players in the league is always a good move especially if you only give up end of the bench guys.
