PBA Trade Analysis: Northport or Phoenix, who won the Anthony-Manuel trade?

Yesterday, we heard that Phoenix Super LPG and Northport Batang Pier made a deal centered around their power forwards.

Phoenix will get Sean Anthony. Northport will receive Vic Manuel and Michael Calisaan.

Unfortunately, we are a little bit misinformed. The two teams are still discussing the deal and it was just finalized.

Phoenix received Sean Anthony, Sean Manganti, future 2nd round pick
Northport received Vic Manuel, Michael Calisaan

Is the trade fair? Yes. Due to the fact that Manuel has a much bigger name than Sean, Northport was forced by Phoenix to pay more. Manganti and a future 2nd though is not enough to say that the trade is not fair.

TEAM ANALYSIS
Phoenix Super LPG

I think this is a good trade for Phoenix. Vic Manuel was not able to build up good chemistry with Phoenix' core. It was primarily due to injury issues but some of it is about his playing style.

Anthony should be a much easier fit because he is a better playmaker and a much more willing three-point shooter.

Getting Manganti and a 2nd round pick are good icings on the cake.

Northport Batang Pier
I do not think sending Manganti and that 2nd was necessary. Nevertheless, Manuel should bring a higher level of talent to the team.

Although, I question the fit with Greg Slaughter because Manuel is also an inside operator. They could face a similar dilemma with what Ginebra experienced in the most recent tournament.
