If you think Ginebra is done in trading for centers, think again. After giving up Art Dela Cruz to grab Sidney Onwubere, PBA on the Go revealed that Ginebra is cooking another trade.
According to PBA on the Go, Ginebra and Rain or Shine is negotiating a deal around Beau Belga. Belga has been rumored for a while but Rain or Shine has managed to keep him.
Will they succeed again this time? Or will we finally see the trade that has been promised?
The first posts by PBA on the Go was Prince Caperal and Kent Salado for Belga. The reaction of the fans that saw this rumor was sour.
Maybe because Caperal is just seen as a bench player at this point. And Salado has been forgotten as a high-valued prospect because of rotting on the bench of Ginebra.
So, according to an update, the current offer now of Ginebra involves a draft pick. If the pick is a 1st round pick, then Rain or Shine easily wins this.
Actually, even if we are only talking about a 2nd round pick, value-wise, I think Rain or Shine will still win the deal.
It boils down to the six years age difference between Caperal and Belga. Six years is long enough for Caperal to recuperate the difference of his skill level to that of Belga.
Add Salado and at least a 2nd round pick and value-wise, Rain or Shine have a good deal on their table.
