PBA Power Ranking: The Top 5 Biggest TRADE of 2020!

Remember 2020? It is the year where the world found out about the Coronavirus. And because of that, only a few trades happened that year.

Nevertheless, we can still come up with five interesting trades that shook the balance of the oldest professional basketball league in Asia.

#5 Phoenix-Blackwater
Phoenix received Brian Heruela
Blackwater received Ron Dennison

This was a very interesting trade at that time because I was a big believer of what Brian can do. Unfortunately, this trade ended up not mattering at all as Brian was soon relegated to the Unrestricted Free-Agency.

#4 San Miguel-Northport
San Miguel received Russell Escoto
Northport received Kelly Nabong

If you have forgotten, Kelly once played for the Beermen for a while. Controversial actions by him forced the hands of San Miguel to exchange him for a younger bigman. Unfortunately, injuries have derailed the supposed bright future of Escoto.

#3 Rain or Shine-TNT
Rain or Shine received 2022 2nd (SMB), 2021 2nd (NOR), 2020 2nd (TNT)
TNT received Ed Daquioag

Here is a beautiful trade by Rain or Shine. As they received a plethora of 2nd round pick for their successful 2nd round pick, Ed. Ed would then be traded again in a much bigger deal.

#2 Alaska-TNT
Alaska received 2023 2nd (TNT) and Mike DiGregorio
TNT received Simon Enciso

Enciso is easily one of the most traded players in the PBA, in this era. He is now with TNT. While Mike is still a vital part of Alaska.

#1 TNT-NLEX-Blackwater

Blackwater received M. Magat, Y. Taha, E. Daquioag, 2021 1st (TNT), 2022 1st (TNT)
NLEX received 2020 1st (BWE), 2021 2nd (BWE), A. Semerad, R. Al-hussaini
TNT received JP Erram

The biggest trade of the year provided TNT with their starting center. Also, that 2020 1st of Blackwater basically ended up as Mikey Williams who helped TNT claim their championship.

And Blackwater? They already let go of Yousef Taha and Marion Magat was already traded.
