PBA Team Power Ranking 5.0: Alaska is a title contender?

I did not expect that this tournament will be as entertaining as what we have witnessed so far. Now that 10 games are under our belt, let me give you my updated ranking.

#10 Northport (Last #6 last ranking)
Losing three tight contests basically erased the chances of Northport, getting into the top 2. Play-wise, I think they are legit but their current record will be a huge obstacle.

#9 San Miguel (Last #7 last ranking)
The first three games validated my analysis that the Manuel-Santos trade is bad for them. Their import is also not the solution.

#8 Rain or Shine (Last #8 last ranking)
Henry Walker is not living up to expectations, averaging 22.5 points, 10 rebounds, 4.0 assists and 44.7% FG per game.

#7 Alaska (Last #10 last ranking)
I did not expect them to be this good. But, they are building up their own style of basketball. They are gritty, especially on defense, and like to run as much as possible. Jeron Teng looks good in their first three games.

#6 Phoenix (Last #9 last ranking)
The 2-0 start of Phoenix is also surprising. Christopher Banchero has a brilliant start to this tournament. Is he trying to pump up his value knowing that he is up for a new contract and he is an unrestricted free agent?

#5 Meralco (Last #4 last ranking)
Meralco has not played a game but they do need to slide as NLEX did meet the hype in their first two games.

#4 NLEX (Last #5 last ranking)
I told you. Coach Yeng Guiao handling KJ McDaniels is special. As expected, coach Yeng managed to crop a strong supporting cast for KJ.

#3 Magnolia (Last #3 last ranking)
Rafi Reavis will not be there for Magnolia. Will that result in a consistent role for James Laput, right away? Or, they will play a lot of small ball?

#2 TNT (Last #2 last ranking)
If the import of TNT is subpar, TNT may need to rely a lot upon their depth. What will be the role of Carl Bryan Cruz and Gab Banal?

#1 Barangay Ginebra (Last #1 last ranking)
Their victory against Alaska Aces is not that impressive. Fortunately for them, Justin Brownlee still looks like the Justin Brownlee of old.
