PBA Trade Rumors: Ginebra or San Miguel, which team needs Daquioag more?

Surprisingly, the two biggest farm teams in the PBA just made their second trade this season. I wonder what is happening with Terrafirma and Blackwater.

Blackwater will get Justin Melton and Terrafirma will receive Ed Daquioag.

Is the trade fair? Age-wise, it is not that fair. Justin is already 34 years old while Ed is only 30 years old. Number-wise, Ed is putting up better numbers because he is getting more minutes.

But his statline of 8.6 points, 4.6 rebounds, 1.9 assists, 1.4 steals, 33.3% FG and 28% 3FG per game, is actually not that impressive.

Knowing that we are talking about Terrafirma and Blackwater, we will not analyze the impact to their teams already.

Instead, let us talk about the fit of Daquioag with the SMC teams.

MAGNOLIA
Knowing that Magnolia has a very deep guard and wing rotation, I do not think they really need Ed.

SAN MIGUEL
San Miguel has superstar guards and wings that are still in their prime in Terrence Romeo and CJ Perez. Nevertheless, it could be interesting for them to add an athletic guard like Ed.

GINEBRA
Knowing that Ginebra has the shallowest guard rotation, they may have the most playing time to offer. Nevertheless, I also do not think that the fit is clean because Ed is not a good three-point shooter.
