PBA Trade Rumors: Did San Miguel made the right decision of not trading Moala Tautuaa?

In a very interesting article posted in the official Facebook page of PBA rush, it was revealed that Blackwater Elite tried to trade for Moala Tautuaa and Matthew Wright.

My first reaction to this is a question. Is Blackwater feeling now the pressure of their historically shameful losing streak?

I hope so. I also hope that this will open their eyes to the reality that the image of their company has suffered from what they are doing in the PBA.

Now, how about San Miguel rejecting a trade offer by Blackwater?

In that article, the offer was not revealed. But, what if Blackwater offered their own 2022 1st round pick. Did SMB reject that?

If they did, I think that is a very bad decision. There is already a 90% chance that the pick of Blackwater will turn out to be the #1 pick.

Did San Miguel say no to an opportunity of getting a Thirdy Ravena or a Kobe Paras?

Now, if the offer is the 2022 SMB 1st and 2022 TNT 1st, this is a different story. To simplify, those two picks could be #8 to #12 in the upcoming draft.

It is hard to fathom that, that is enough for a 6'8 giant like Moala. But, if we consider the reality that they are only giving him 9.5 minutes per game in this tournament, that package may not be that bad.

Overall though, if that is the offer that was rejected, I think San Miguel did the right thing.
