2022 PBA Draft: NBA G League player wants to join the upcoming draft!

The upcoming draft is shaping up to be a historically deep draft, as Filipino-Foreigners try to take advantage of the lesser requirement for participation.

The guy that I am most eager to see and be part of the upcoming draft is Sedrick Barefield. And Tiebreakertimes reported that he is in the process of getting his Philippine passport, the needed requirement for him to be allowed.

Why am I so hype about Sedrick?

The guy is a legit NBA G League player. The guard played for the G-League affiliate team of the Oklahoma City Thunders wherein he averaged 9.0 points, 1.4 rebounds, 1.3 assists, 41% FG and 39% 3FG per game.

Of course, he played in US NCAA and in his senior year, he produced 16.8 points, 2.1 rebounds, 3.8 assists, 41% FG and 39% 3FG per game.

Those are awesome numbers to be able to reach in a very high level of a league in US NCAA. US NCAA is of course a much better league than the PBA.

So, can you imagine the potential numbers that Sedrick will do in the PBA?

Sedrick is a scoring guard who was not that effective on the defensive end. But in the PBA, he should be having big advantage in athleticism and experience, which should help him be a much better defender.
