PBA Analysis: Ginebra's biggest problem is?

Losing Stanley Pringle is a big thing for Ginebra. Nevertheless, that should not be enough to not look at them as a title hopeful.

They still have Justin Brownlee, arguably still a top 3 import this year and easily the most consistent one in the last five years.

They still have the most talented twin tower in the country. Japeth Aguilar and Christian Standhardinger are too big, too strong and too talented for almost any twin tower in the league.

Also, they still have Scottie Thompson and LA Tenorio. Two superstar guards that can lead any team to the playoffs.

So, why is Ginebra at the middle of the standings?

Remember how Ginebra and coach Tim Cone succeeded in the past? It was through the defense. Currently, Ginebra is in the bottom half of the ranking in terms of points per game of the opponent.

And you know why? Because they are only rebounding 41.8 per game, the last in the league! Yes, believe it or not, but the team with the most talented frontline is the worst in terms of rebounding.

It is not as if Aguilar and Standhardinger are bad in rebounding. They can easily average double-digits in rebounds. Unfortunately, they also just grabbed five rebounds in their most recent game against Meralco.

Should you trust Christian and Japeth to bounce back? Of course, you should. Those guys are superstars.
