PBA Controversy: Is Alaska franchise / roster worth buying?

After their shocking announcement of leaving the PBA, the next question now is what will happen to Alaska, especially the roster?

There are two possibilities. It is either through dispersal draft or another company will buy the Alaska franchise.

Is Alaska worth buying?

The answer is a clear yes.

The first reason is the established fanbase of Alaska. Even though the purchaser will not be named Alaska anymore, I am pretty sure that their fans will still feel connected to the new company that will arrive. Especially if they can also stand firm and stay dedicated to competing for the title.

I think a lot of fans will appreciate an independent company that will buy Alaska. It will be a great goodwill move for them.

Then, if we look at the roster, Alaska actually offers an excellent roster for a new franchise. The roster is young and with huge potential.

The current core of the team is Allyn Bulanadi, Jeron Teng, Maverick Ahanmisi and Abu Tratter. That core may not be as tantalizing as the others but they can be dangerous if the new franchise will add the right talent around them.

Also, Alaska will be having two first round picks in the upcoming draft. There is a good chance that Alaska will have a top 4 pick and then another top 6 pick. With those two picks, Alaska can get two more future stars of the league.

Add other young guys like Ben Adamos, Taylor Browne, Alec Stockton and Robbie Herndon and the new company should be able to craft a championship contender after one season!

So, if you are a company that is thinking of entering the PBA. I hope you really consider Alaska Aces.
