PBA Controversy: PBA badly needs to add teams!

Last year, the PBA fans were surprised and delighted when some PBA superstars decided to take their talent to Japan B League.

During that time, the main concern of some fans will be the draining of talent in the PBA. It is a logical thing to assume but when you actually check the minutes and the current depth of the rosters, you will realize that PBA badly needs to add more teams so that these PBA players will get the right amount of opportunity that they deserve.

If we used the numbers in the Philippine Cup, you will see that only eight players averaged more than 35 minutes a game. That is actually a very low rate, because superstars in other leagues, like the NBA, are usually averaging more than 35 minutes per game.

To solidify my point, here are the guys who averaged less than 30 minutes per game who has the talent and in-prime physical condition to get more than 35 minutes per game:

Rey Nambatac, CJ Perez, Troy Rosario, Terrence Romeo, Joshua Munzon, Moala Tautuaa, Raymond Almazan, JP Erram and Jio Jalalon.

Actually, there are other guys averaging more than 20 minutes who should be able to play at least, 5 minutes more per game.

Now, here is the list of guys who averaged less than 20 minutes per game that deserves to play more than 25 minutes per game.

Justin Chua, Rob Herndon, Santi Santillan, Prince Caperal, Kib Montalbo, Jackson Corpuz, Jewel Ponferada and Alvin Pasaol.

Lastly, here are the guys that are playing less than 10 minutes per game who can actually play more than 15 good minutes per game.

Justin Melton, Trevis Jackson, Larry Muyang, Alec Stockton, Mike Ayonayon, Arvin Tolentino, Barkley Ebona and Mike Ayonayon.

Just to repeat, we are talking about Philippine Cup here, where all players are with Filipino-blood.

I think one team is not enough at this point. PBA should look to add two independent teams.
