PBA Free Agency: Ginebra added a giant!

In a very interesting development, Barangay Ginebra San Miguel added Maurice Shaw to their 5x5 line-up.

This is really interesting because they already have a loaded frontline with Christian Standhardinger and Japeth Aguilar as the leaders.

After those two, Prince Caperal and Arvin Tolentino usually get the minutes but they also have Joe Devance and Aljon Mariano on the sideline.

Add the fact that Ken Holmqvist was their recent 1st round pick, and it is quite mind-boggling why Ginebra added another center.

Shaw is not capable of hitting outside shots. So, he will not be a good fit playing with Standhardinger or Aguilar.

Maybe, this is just a move ensuring that no other team will add a legit 6'8 to their line-up.

On the other hand, Northport decided to put band-aids to their problems by signing three free-agents. Robert Bolick, Nico Elorde and Greg Slaughter have not signed their contract extension.

Northport signed Roi Sumang, Alvin Abundo and Chris Dumapig. Roi is a very interesting addition as the guy is very skilled and may finally get consistent touches. Will he finally show that he can be a good guard in the league?

Although, the bigger questions are still the future of Robert and Greg. Is there a chance that Northport is just playing up a drama to avoid suspicion once they do a set of farm-team trades?
