PBA Free Agency: San Miguel is making a mistake?

The rumor of a transfer of Jericho Cruz to San Miguel was shocking and now, it is real. Jericho will leave the team that gave him another chance to go to the other camp and play for his college coach in Adamson, coach Leo Austria.

The philosophy of San Miguel of amassing as much talent as possible to win games continues with this move.

Jericho is currently averaging 10.2 points, 2.9 rebounds, 2.6 assists, 1.3 steals and 44% FG per game. His playing style is almost the same to that of Simon Enciso, the wingman that SMB traded during the offseason.

Talent is still the number predictor of who can win the championship. It doesn't mean though that it is a sure way to dominate.

Jericho needs the ball to be maximized. He is not an elite defender. He is not that good of a playmaker. He is not even an average three-point shooter.

Remember that CJ Perez, Terrence Romeo and Marcio Lassiter are already in the backcourt and wing of SMB.

Those three are combining for 32.7 shots per game when they actually have the talent to combine for 50 shots per game.

I mean, remember that Vic Manuel and Junemar Fajardo are also there.

Add Jericho Cruz and you will realize that San Miguel will not have enough balls to maximize his talent.

Now, if Jericho will get shots from Perez, Romeo and Lassiter, that shot will actually be a worse one.
