PBA Free Agency: Should Bolick leave the PBA?

Tiebreakertimes broke the news that Robert Bolick did not sign the contract extension offered by his PBA ballclub, Northport Batang Pier.

This is a very surprising decision by Robert, if we consider our observation that San Miguel Corporation is helping Northport.

Although, this should not be a surprise to fans knowing that it has been rumored in the past few months that Robert wants to try the International league.

Take note that Robert is currently a Restricted Free Agent. That means that Northport can still match any contract that Robert will sign with any other team.

So, the real question really here is, should he pursue the International league?

In my opinion, he should. I think it is overall a good thing for Philippine basketball if our players will play in a better league.

Also, him playing for an International league should make it easier for him to represent our country in our national team.

Now, PBA will of course be suffering again if one of their superstars decides to leave. After Bobby Ray Parks and Kiefer Ravena, did it.

But overall, I would rather see our superstars go to a much better league, and put more pressure to the management and board of the PBA to clean their act and do the right thing for the league.
