I am pretty sure this is the biggest fear of the entire PBA universe as Converge has officially bought the Alaska franchise.
If you think Converge would even entertain the idea of helping the other conglomerates, just look at their financial statements.
They are earning billions every year with a brand name to defend and with direct competitors in front of them in the PBA.
Actually, they made sure to make a point in the press conference wherein commissioner Marcial declared them as the buyer.
Their new team governor is former PBA commissioner, Chito Salud. The Commissioner in the last decade that have the best reputation.
Kume Salud is known to be fair and according to the rumors, the reason why he left the league in the past was that he was already tired of the bad dealings inside the league.
He is back to led the biggest franchise to join the PBA in this century. Think about it, a salary of a former PBA commissioner is surely not that small for him to accept the responsibility of being the team governor.
I am excited to see how Converge will build their team and try to win the crown.
