PBA Controversy: Alaska's new potential buyer is another BIG company!

There is no denying that a Manny Villar company could still be the biggest potential acquirer of the Alaska Aces franchise.

Nevertheless, we found out recently that the Pineda clan of Pampanga is also looking to capture the franchise.

Now, we have another big-time firm that Bilyonaryo.com revealed to be interested in entering the PBA. It is the Converge ICT of Dennis Anthony Uy.

This Dennis Uy is different from the Dennis Uy of Dito Telecom. This Dennis is a businessman that is rooted in Pampanga, too.

Of course, Converge is currently one of the top 3 Internet provided in the country, together with Smart/PLDT and Globe.

Knowing the pedigree of this company, there is no way that they will join the league and will not put up the effort of building up a championship team.

Nevertheless, it will be very interesting if they will allow them to enter, knowing that MVP group is there, with three votes.

Also, Phoenix Super LPG is owned by the other Dennis Uy, who owns Dito. Dito is the third Telecom in the country, a competitor of Converge in providing Internet.

With this growing interest, I really hope the PBA will consider opening the league for additional teams.

Imagine if Converge, a Manny Villar company and another team under Pineda will be added to the competition.

It could be bloodbath.
