PBA Controversy: The five biggest Gilas snubs from the SEA Games line-up

After a miserable ending to their games in February, Gilas will now prepare for their next competition, the SEA games.

This is of course a competition that Gilas had been dominating in the past several decades. Nevertheless, this is still crucial for our team as it will help their general preparation for the 2023 FIBA World Cup.

So, the PBA and SBP decided to have the following line-up:
Frontline: Junemar Fajardo, Poy Erram, Troy Rosario, Moala Tautuaa, Isaac Go, Japeth Aguilar
Wing: Matthew Wright, Dwight Ramos, Thirdy Ravena, Will Navarro, Caelum Harris, Lebron Lopez
Guards: Robert Bolick, RR Pogoy, Kib Montalbo, Kevin Alas

So, who are the biggest snubs?

#5 Greg Slaughter
Greg is very available and yet Gilas is not adding him into the line-up. I think, this is a mistake knowing that Greg will still be the biggest Pinoy basketball player next year and size matters in basketball.

#4 Javee Mocon
Mocon is about to enter his prime and a product of San Beda. With his versatility, Mocon may have a shot of making the final line-up in 2023 if they will give him a chance.

#3 CJ Perez
CJ was impressive in his stint in Gilas. And yet he is not making the line-up for a tournament that is meant to improve the chemistry of the team?

#2 Scottie Thompson
So, Ginebra will only have a single player in this Gilas line-up. Interesting. Thompson is in-prime and provides a unique elite skill that should make a big difference for Gilas.

#1 Terrence Romeo
It seems like San Miguel Corp. gave a maximum of four players that they can provide to our national team. Romeo is the best guard in breaking down the defense. This is vital in international play. Coach Chot Reyes should find a way in getting both Terrence and Junemar. And remember, Terrence is actually a former player of TNT.
