PBA Controversy: Ginebra's Tolentino o Meralco's Jose, who committed a big mistake?

The Governor's Cup finals between Meralco and Ginebra started with a dominant victory by the orange men.

It was a flawless win until a fracas happened between Arvin Tolentino and Raymar Jose at the dwindling moments of the game.

It was mind-boggling to see the Ginebra players playing aggressive defense when the game was already decided, mathematically. Especially if we consider the reality that coach Tim Cone is the biggest proponent against scoring when the game is already decided, mathematically.

What transpired was a heated war of words between the former Tamaraws. And it boiled over to the dugouts.

The question now then is, which one was wrong with what happened?

If we are talking about the player that went overboard, I did not see enough evidence for either of the two.

But, it is pretty clear to me that Arvin committed a much bigger mistake.

Why?

Because he is a starter and a way more important part of his team than Jose. Arvin's shooting ability is a crucial part of their offense against Ginebra.

While Jose's role will just be a garbage time guy during this Finals. Meralco will be fine even if Jose fails to play.
