It is quite shocking that we have not heard of a head coach being replaced at this point in the offseason.
Coaches are the easiest part of a team to be replaced to provide a shake-up to the direction of a team.
So, here are my top 5 coaches in the hot seat.
#5 Coach John Cardel
I do not see any basketball reason to keep coach Cardel with the showing of his team in the past few tournaments. Yes, he is not to be blamed for the construction of the roster but the performance on the court is not inspiring either.
#4 coach Jeff Cariaso
There is a good argument that coach Jeff just delivered his best performance as a coach in the most recent tournament but his inability to fix the issues of the team is really concerning. Also, we have a new team here who may want to get someone that can provide them a brand new image.
#3 Coach Pido Jarencio
There is no question that coach Pido is a very entertaining coach. But, coaches aren't meant to entertain but to lead their team to victory. Something that coach Pido has failed to do.
#2 Coach Norman Black
There is no question that coach Norman is the most hated coach right now after suffering their fourth Finals defeat at the hands of Ginebra. The urge to try a new one should be high now in the eyes of Meralco management.
#1 Coach Leo Austria
You should realize that San Miguel has a better line-up than Meralco and yet Meralco performed better this season. Will the Beermen management realize that coach Leo is losing his midas touch already?
