PBA Trade Rumors: Converge is trading for a giant?

Converge is loaded with a lot of trade rumors. This is not surprising at all as the team is full of tradeable assets.

They have the package to trade for a superstar and also the talent to trade for picks and younger stars that can carry them in the future.

Now, we have this very interesting rumor that is worth discussing. In the rumor, Converge will get Greg Slaughter in exchange for Yousef Taha, Maverick Ahanmisi, Michael DiGregorio and a 2nd round pick.

So, it is a trade wherein Northport will get the quantity in exchange for a quality player. So, is the package equitable to the value of Greg?

Let us start with Taha. I think, value-wise, you need four Taha to equal the value of a Greg Slaughter. So, Taha will cover 25%.

Maverick is the most talented player that Converge is giving up here but the guy is playing like he may never be a consistent starting-caliber guard of a championship team. So, I think he will convert 30%.

DiGregorio is a solid shooter who works hard on both ends of the court. Elite shooters are still hard to find in the league. So, DiGregorio should be able to cover 25% of the value of Greg.

Now, 25%+25%+30% = 80%. How much value can that 2nd round pick, cover? I think, I will only trade Greg if I get at least 10 2nd round picks. So, 10% for that.

That means, I see Converge as the winner of this trade because the package on the table is only equal to the 90% value of Greg.
