PBA Trade Rumors: Ginebra will add another superstar in the offseason?

Barangay Ginebra San Miguel is on the verge of meeting the Meralco Bolts for the fourth time in the Governors' Cup Finals. Now, they are not only in the headlines because of the upcoming Finals but also about a statement given by Arwind Santos.

Arwind said that he wants to play for Barangay Ginebra. He added that Ginebra has been the most popular team in their locality and that he wants to play for them.

This is very interesting from a lot of angles because Santos is the type of player that is perfect for Ginebra. Defensively, he can be that partner to Aguilar or Standhardinger that can correct the mistakes of those giants.

Offensively, Arwind will open up space for them because of his three-point shooting which the PBA is well aware of.

The big question though is, what should be the package that Northport should ask for him?

Even though Arwind has been one of the top 10 local performers in this Governors' Cup, we cannot ignore the reality that he is already 40 years old.

With that age, Northport will surely win a trade wherein Ginebra will just focus on the recent production and name value of a Santos.

Like, trading one of Aguilar or Standhardinger for him. Because think about it, Aguilar and Standhardinger cannot even be argued to be top 15 local players in this Governors' Cup.

But if we consider the age, I think the perfect package is Prince Caperal and the 2022 1st round pick of Ginebra. Ginebra gave up crucial value but was not high enough to hurt them in the long run.
